Kisii parents have praised Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi after visiting Kisii and condemning teachers on ‘their love for tea business more than education for the pupils.’
Speaking to us today in Kisii town, they said that the Cabinet secretary was right since some teachers have slept on their jobs.
“Some teachers are not serious with their work. How would someone be a tea director at the same time teaching students,” said Charles Nyasoro.
“The speech delivered by education Cabinet Secretary Matiangi was a good one touching on those teachers who have divided loyalty on their career and we echo him for that," Says Joy Kemei a parent.
They also promised to work hand in hand with the Cabinet Secretary after directing them to be vigilant and report mediocre teachers.
They call upon Matiangi to continue with his impromptu visits to crack down ‘jokers’ in the education sector.
