Parents to the top KCPE girl Goldalyn Kakuya have reached out to other parents in the country with advice over acceptance of their children.
Betilda Cherono (mother) and Harrison Tanga (father) have asked parents to accept their children the way they are despite any special needs.
Mr Tanga, a manager at West Kenya Sugar, told parents with children of any disability to be proud of them and not hide them away from society.
“Look what Goldalyn has done, the others who are born didn’t even perform as well as she did,” he said.
“It’s important for parents to accept their children, love and support them. Do not hide them.”
Speaking of children with albinism, Ms Cherono said that they are like any other child with the only difference being the lack of a melanin pigmet in their skin.
“People shouldn’t look down upon them. Her performance has humbled us,” she said.
