Kisii county Kuppet officials led by chairman Osoro Okondo have called upon Nyabururu Girls high school parents and students to be calm after the school principal was interdicted.
Addressing the press on Thursday outside the county education offices the chairman said that there was a due process between the employer and stakeholders before the principal’s interdiction.
Osoro accused those who advised the students to demonstrate from the school up to education offices and called upon the students to be calm and prepare for their final examination which is scheduled to start early next week.
“We are advising parents and students to be calm since it has happened, we urge students to continue with their preparations peaceful as the matter will be worked upon,” said Osoro.
He added that due process was done by the ministry as they will be ready to listen to the principal when she will appear before the disciplinary committee.
“We believe that due process which was done, but as the officials, we will listen to her when she comes to the disciplinary committee,” he added.
Early on Thursday morning, the students demonstrated from school up to the county education offices where they demanded an address from the education officers who were also engaged somewhere .
They later returned to school as they were advised to go and revise for their final examination.
The principal Elmelda Ochenge her interdiction comes after the school was reported to be applying corporal punishment to students against the law.
