According to various parents interviewed in Kisii town today, they asked all the schools to embrace and start implementing the initiative.

Richard Nyabwengi a Parent at Nyasiongo secondary said it was hard for him to know what is going on in the school and any necessary information but with the websites will help update them on what is happening in the schools.

Nywabwengi though pointed out that lack of electricity would provide challenges as most of the schools in some areas were not yet connected.

He asked contractors who have been awarded tenders through the Rural Electrification Authority to connect power to all secondary schools in the region to speed up the process.

“The government should ensure that all schools have electricity so that they are well equipped with computers to enhance learning and technology,” he added.

Another parent David Mosiria backed the directive and called upon school heads to ensure they have them before the deadline.

Recently Matiang’i asked all secondary schools to ensure they have a functional website to enhance public access to information, adding that selections will be done online 2017.
