Parents and teachers in Nakuru have raised their concerns about lack of enough school uniform dealers in Nakuru town.
They said the monopoly of the business in town has been a problem to them since some spend almost a whole day waiting to be served as Shah outfitters is the only shop dealing in school uniforms supply in the town.
James Kang'ethe, a parent who had spend more than six hours on the queue waiting to be served said the sole shop can not satisfied the growing population of clients in the town. He said that the shop closes at exactly 5pm therefore locking many people out forcing them to wakeup early in the morning the following day.
Kang'ethe urged investors to invest into the business to curb the problem which has been there for many years.
"I have spend more than six hours to buy school uniform, I have no otherwise since this is the only shop in
town that deals in school uniforms. Its high time more investors invested in school uniforms business to help the town residents reduce time wasted whenever they wanted to buy school uniforms,” said Kang'ethe.
The Shah outffiters is the only shop dealing in school uniforms in Nakuru town.
Amoche Wanyama who is a teacher in the town said that the monopoly of the business is a problem to buyers adding that Shah Outfitters has been over-burdened by large numbers of clients especially when schools open.
Wanyama who said that waiting for the whole day to be served is an acceptable, also urged the owner of Shah Outfitters to open other branches in the town to avoid the long queue made by parents who end up wasting a lot of man hour at their shop.
"Shah outfitters as the sole investor in school uniforms cannot satisfied the rapidly growing number of clients in the whole of Nakuru town. Let us have another shop to match the high demand of people who flock the place to buy uniforms, “said Wanyama.
