The Chairlady of Mwangaza Women Group in Teachers Estate Joyce Wanyoike while addressing members of her group during the Annual General Meeting held at Calvary Church observed that many parents allow their school going children to own and operate modern digital devices like phones without weighing on their disadvantages.

“Some of us are introducing digital devices to our young school going children quite early in life without thinking about the negative effects of the use of such devices. They cannot concentrate on learning while at home and these things have materials and trends that contribute to immoral characters among young people,” said Wanyoike.

Wanyoike also observed that many school going children were getting hooked to mobile phones enabled internet programs like Facebook and twitter and even pornography; a fact that she said was a recipe to ruining the children’s education standards and morality.

She told members of her group to use the money they earn from the groups’ development projects and savings to pay fees for their children but not to buy them digital gadgets like mobile phones.
