The morning fire razed down a dormitory in the school and nothing was salvaged.

Through one of the parents Alice Nyagoika, they have said that since the tragedy occurred, they have not yet received any official communication from the county government.

The fire razed down a 240 student capacity dormitory.

According to the school patron Joan Orege, the fire was discovered by the school watchman who reportedly saw flames at around 6am before alerting the administration. She adds that it was then that they mobilised students with whom they tried to extinguish the fire in vain.

The school Principal Jeniffer Otolo told reporters that they only managed to salvage a few items belonging to students. The principal revealed that the incident only affected students of forms one to three.

Luckily, there were no casualties as the fire broke out when the students were attending their morning studies. The cause of the fire has not yet been established but investigations are being conducted.
