“If someone has been assessed and confirmed as a disabled person, it is important for them to be registered as there are some amount of money waivered for registered individuals with disabilities in schools, business and all other sectors,” said Yego.

“There is 5 per cent employment opportunity for people with disability in every sector, capturing their data will help us find means to fit them on the percentage,” said Yego.
Yego further urged the Uasin Gishu County to allocate more funds help plan for the disabled in the next financial year.
“The Sh20 million allocations for people with disability is a good start for the county, but these funds are not enough to help the disabled, Therefore the county should consider allocating more funds in the next financial year,” said Yego.
