National Parents Association Chairman Nicholas Maiyo has urged parents to educate their children on dangers of early pregnancies and drug abuse.

He said this will help reduce cases of early pregnancies and drug abuse among students."It is sad that parents have forgotten their duties of taking care of their children instead of living it for teachers leading to decay in morals and then committing various atrocities that ruin their future. There have been increased cases of girls dropping out of school and drug abuse due to poor parenting," he said in Eldoret town, Tuesday."I want to urge parents to ensure that they stay close to their children, this will help monitor their behavior and correct them promptly," he added. He, however, warned parents against sending their children to their relatives during this long holidays instead should stay with them. "Please have time with your daughters and sons. This will help create a good relationship and in case they are facing any challenge they will be able to open up," noted Maiyo. He wished all KCPE and KCSE candidates success in their examinations.
