Ndeti said the training institutions are important because they offer alternative opportunities to train youths on life skills.

She urged leaders and parents from the region to take the institutions positively and encourage more youths to seek training.

Ndeti who spoke to this writer on the phone on Thursday said youth polytechnics are important especially to children who drop out of school for one reason or another.

She said those who sit KCPE examinations and fail to enroll to secondary schools alongside children who had sat their KCSE examinations and scored low grades should join the institution so as to gain skills and experience to earn livelihoods.

Ndeti said there is need for more of the polytechnics to be established in villages across the county so as to give opportunities to several youth who fail to seek training on life skill due to inadequate institutions of such kind.

She on the other hand called on the youth to stop looking down upon youth polytechnics asserting they are just like any other tertiary institutions with equal opportunities to nurture individuals into professionals.
