Parents and guardians of students who did not get admitted to secondary schools due to under-qualifications have been urged to enroll their children in training polytechnics and colleges.

Speaking in Kisiiki zone in Machakos County during education day ceremony, Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi called upon the parents to encourage their children to join the institutions, so that they can be equipped with the right skills.

“Different people are born with different capabilities. If your child did not get the marks to enable him secure a place in Secondary school, please don’t keep them at home,” said the MP.

“There are many polytechnics and training institutes the government has built for them to get equipped with expertise in different fields. This can help them make a living in their future and avoid poverty,” added Mwangangi.

The event that took place in Kisiiki Primary School saw the best performing children in the zone get an award of S5,000.

Mwangangi stated that his leadership would support education sector in Yatta constituency, as it was within his jurisdiction.

He further called upon the National government to solve complains and ensure security of the teachers from Garissa and Mandera, instead of announcing vacancies and relieving the teachers from their duties.
