Child specialist Emily Kimani noted that majority of the children in the county were slowly loosing their creativity, as they were forced to stay behind doors and watch television

Kimani, who is also the Patron of Nakuru Pipeline Bible Club, noted that many young children were not willing to stay outdoors or even play with their peers.

“This is slowly creating an anti-social society who are withdrawn and cannot talk to even their immediate neighbors. This is truly a dangerous trend,” she cited.

She also called on parents to monitor the content their children watch on Television, saying that most of the materials the children were watching were either demonic or contained pornographic materials.

“I would advice parents to first watch any material before allowing their children to watch them. The rate at which cartoons are using curse words, hate speech and intimidation is worrying,” she cited

She also called on parents and teachers to speak positively to the children they were entrusted with, adding that many were killing the child’s self esteem.

“Many of them speak so negatively to the children that they end up hating and despising themselves, which is not right,” she added.
