A health officer in Kibera, Augustine Obwoge has asked all Kibera residents to allow their children be vaccinated against polio scheduled to start on April, 9-13, 2016.
Speaking at DC area, Obwoge said that residents should beware of the vaccination exercise and parents should take their children to health centres for vaccination if the officers in charge who will be going round will not reach them to administer vaccines to their kids.
“Parents allow kids to be given vaccines to help them from being attacked by physical disability diseases that comes as a result of poor vaccination. The exercise is scheduled to take place from 9th to 13th of April, 2016,” said Obwoge.
“The vaccines are good and parents should not fear their children being given vaccination as this will help fight polio. I know some parents may oppose the vaccination but let them be assured that the vaccines to be administered are safe for their kids without any side effects,” he concluded.
