Kisii county parents are appealing for an Education Foundation that will sponsor best performing pupils from the region.
Those that spoke to Hivisasa said that Ongwae's government has no single charity organization, offering any help to top exams performers or those from needy backgrounds.
Ezekiah Bosire, a parent and a resident, said Ongwae should launch a county charity group that will sponsor pupils who score above 400 marks or 380 marks from public schools.
"The whole of Kisii county has no education foundation. Ongwae should plan for one that will sponsor children who score 400 marks or those with 380 marks from public schools," he said.
Bosire has further urged the County bursary allocation officers to mostly consider orphaned students in the allocation and disbursing of funds, as a way of supporting them to fully realize their educational dreams.
"The government should highly award County bursary funds to orphaned students. That is the only they can get aid from the government," he added.
Martha Ongweso also a parent, said an Education foundation will help many needy but best performing pupils, to further their education instead of dropping from school because of lack of school fees.
"Many students drop from school because they can't raise their school fees.Such an initiative will help top students in the region with fee constraints to finish their schooling," she said.
