Speaking at a burial on Friday the County Parent Representatives Chairman Mr Joseph Tundura said the action would serve as a warning to others who might be contemplating to perpetuate similar plots.

Tundura observed that school unrests were on the increase and if not checked could lead to loss of lives and more destruction of school property.

He attributed the indiscipline cases to idleness due to too much free time and communication breakdown between school administration and students.

“Institutional cultures that do not focus and prioritise on academics and adoption of dictatorial rather than participatory leadership styles among school heads,” he added.

Tundura called upon all stakeholders in the sector of education to unite and play their roles in instilling discipline in students effectively.

He asked the school administrators to invite motivational speakers regularly to encourage and mentor the learners.

He said the behaviour of the young people had to do with upbringing where many parents had left the job of guiding and counseling children to schools which are not well equipped to do so.
