A section of parents across Kisii have welcomed the directive of Education Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i to all school heads over illegal school fees increment and payment.
According to some of the parents that were interviewed by this writer on Tuesday, some of the school heads had the tendency of increasing school fees without consulting the parents nor the ministry of education.
Simon Nyanchonka a parent of two said that they would like Matiang’i to now ensure that the directive and warning he gave to school heads is worked on and no one violates it.
“We want the CS to ensure that sanity is brought in schools more so in school fees as we have been exploited in the past,” he added.
This comes barely after the CS warned all school heads from hiking school fees without consulting the ministry of education stakeholders.
