Kisumu County Education Chief Executive has warned parents for not taking their children to school saying that the county is going to crack the whip on them.

Mr Samuel Okuro Ong'wen said it is shameful for any child to stay at home when the government is committed to provide basic education to all children in the country.

The education boss was categorical to those parents who don't take children to school saying that their days were numbered.

He further said any child who is of school-going age who will be found out of school will be arrested and stern action taken against his parent.

Mr Okuro wondered why many children of school-going age re marauding in the streets when they are supposed to be in school.

He said such children will become a security and economic threat in future if their character and that of their parents is not tamed and dealt with decisively before it gets late.

"Am sending a stern warning to those parents who want to sabotage the government effort to improve literacy levels in the county that their days are numbered," said Mr Okuro.

He added that the county government will not relent in its effort to discipline all the law and policy breakers.

"The government is going to deal with you thoroughly if you don't change. We will treat you like a normal criminal for your actions to deny your children their right to learn of criminal dimension." he said.
