The National Assembly was forced to halt Wednesday's live recording, following the launch of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).
A communication from the Parliament Communications team, advised Kenyans that the national broadcaster, KBC, would not be able to air the live proceedings, as it concentrated on the ntional event.
President Uhuru Kenyatta inaugurated the Sh327 billion phase one of the modern rail transport system in Mombasa,.
"Due to the activities of unveiling the Standard Gauge Railway this morning and part of the day, by H. E the President Uhuru Kenyatta, KBC Channel 1 and KBC Radio Taifa, will not be able to transmit the live proceedings of the National Assembly sittings. You can however follow the House plenary proceedings on Bunge TV, our Youtube channel-National Assembly Proceedings, and on Heritage TV," read a communication from Parliament.
During the official opening of the Mombasa Terminal, Uhuru was joined by national and government leaders, dignitaries, diplomats and Kenyans from all walks of life for the inaugural ride on the train dubbed, Madaraka Express.
