According to the 2010, Cabinet secretaries are supposed to be technocrats! These are people who have the knowledge of how the ministries they head are to be run and managed.
However, this isn't the case. President Uhuru Kenyatta's Cabinet comprises former politicians, some of who are now blatantly violating the Constitution by openly engaging in active politics.
It is time that members of Parliament should amend the Constitution to allow CSs to be politicians to avoid impunity because Kenyans haven't seen any action taken against those ministers doing politics.
On Wednesday, Interior Cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaissery was seen doing politics in Kajiado County when he said the Jubilee government will rule until 2032.
He also said Deputy President William Ruto will win the presidency in 2022.
On the same day, Water and Irrigation minister Eugene Wamalwa was on Citizen TV saying he is still in politics and he expects to vie for a political post come 2017.
Kenyans are watching how many Cabinet secretaries flout the Constitution and it will be easy for them to emulate what they do as well.
Let the government do what is necessary and allow Cabinet secretaries to be politicians to avoid impunity
