Senate Speaker Ekwee Ethuro, this morning hosted a delegation led by the Speaker of the Republic of Sudan's Council of States, Dr Omer Suliman Adam, Wednesday. Both Speakers appreciated the cordial relations that Sudan and Kenya, and other Members of the African Union have enjoyed over the years and observed that this could get better for a greater Africa. Their deliberations centered on developing Parliamentary cooperation among Senates in the African region and beyond, in a bid to promote Parliamentary Democracy and promote the role of legislatures in over-sighting the executive.This even as National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, hosted the Speaker of the United Republic of Tanzania, Job Ndogai and Members of the Parliamentary Service Commission of the Parliament of Tanzania, at his Parliament Building Office.The visiting Speaker and the Commission Members Rev Peter Mbigwa, Salim Turky, and Mary Chatanda, are in the country on a study tour on the operations of the Parliament of Kenya.They are also here to study the mandate of Kenya's Parliamentary Service Commission in regards to the welfare of MPs and staff of Parliament, the structure of Parliament and on the symbiotic relationship between the Parliament of Kenya and other arms of government.Speaker Ndogai and his entourage will also be special guests during the annual National Prayer Breakfast slated for May 25, at the Safari Park Hotel.
