National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has warned that the report by the Cord and Jubilee Joint Committee on reconstitution of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) may be thrown out of the National Assembly.
Muturi has warned that the committee risks it report being dismissed if it is not tabled before the house today on Tuesday.
The National Assembly speaker said the select-committee has not formerly asked for more time before parliament to justify its delay to table the report.
Muturi said this even as the committee chaired by Senators Kiraitu Murungi and James Orengo were still held up in a closed door meeting at Winster Hotel to iron out on key issues.
The MPs from Cord and Jubilee were expected to table their report on the fate of IEBC and propose reforms to chat the way forward for the electoral body.
The select-committee was formed after Cord leaders and supporters took to the streets for over three weeks seeking the removal of the commissioners.
