The Kenya Parliamentary Journalists' Association (KPJA) on Friday held an engagement forum with the National Assembly leadership at Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort and Spa, Mombasa, during the 4th Annual KPJA Retreat, hosted by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Justin Muturi.
The forum which was officially opened by Parliamentary Service Commissioner and Chair, Commission Committee on Information and Communication, Aisha Jumwa (on behalf of the Speaker), is held annually in a bid to harness the symbiotic relationship between the National Assembly and the Parliamentary Scribes.
The Clerk of the National Assembly Michael Sialai in his key note address, promised that Parliament would continue to facilitate them to carry out their work independently, but challenged to embrace objective and accurate reportage.
Jumwa who is the Malindi MP, opened the media retreat for parliamentary reporters on behalf Muturi at Sarova Whitesands in Mombasa.
Also present was Clerk of the National Assembly Michael Sialai, KPJA Chair Gideon Keter, Chair Editors Guild Churchill Otieno among others.
