It is the countdown to Election Day and the fever to win has overcome both the aspirants and their parties.
With only five months left to the D-day, allegations of political parties registering members without their consent are flying left, right and centre.
It appears that political parties affiliated with the major power players are in possession of ordinary Kenyans details and they are registering them without their knowledge or consent.
Kenyans who think that they are on the IEBC register of voters are now finding out they are members of different parties even without them being actively involved with the said parties.
Another scenario is the dead coming back to life. Political parties have been accused of using names of the dead to register them as their members.
This is wrong and a clear indication of the erosion of morality in the society. The parties involved should be held accountable and the Registrar of political parties should intervene and ensure that this vice is curbed.
Political parties suspected of or already have registered members without their consent erode the trust of voters and should rectify this letting the public choose the direction they deem fit in the political territory.
