A Nyamira MCA now wants Deputy President William Ruto to join Mashinani party to avoid being irrelevant in Kenyan politics.
Mr Ruto has formerly agreed to have his United Republican Party be dissolved by joining a new outfit Jubilee Alliance Party that will be used by President Uhuru Kenyatta to seek his reelection.
But the Gesima MCA who was elected on a URP ticket, Ken Atuti has yet again faulted his boss urging him to consider holding talks with Bomet Governor Isack Ruto to be on the ‘safe’ side towards elections.
“I have been in politics for a while and I have always maintained that to grow politically you must have you own political outfit. The dissolution of URP rendered the DP party less and that is the bitter truth,” he said.
“This is the opportune moment for him consider acquiring Mashinani party which is gaining popularity in the Rift valley to be on the safer side. This is politics and is full of games and dirty tricks,” he said.
Atuti also maintained that the DP’s ascendancy to the presidency would be much ‘difficult’ due to ‘cartels’ in the new outfit JAP.
“It’s difficult for him to trust JAP. It wasn’t his initial idea and I am sure some cartels will frustrate him moments after the President gets reelected,” he said.
