Orange Democratic Movement political contestants have been warned against importation of voters.

Kisumu Central ODM Treasurer Edward Ogolla said voter importation was rampant among political rivals.

According to the party official, ODM national elections board should move with speed and address the issue before the month long mass voter registration exercise organised by the IEBC.

Ogolla said the practice by some candidates especially during party primaries has affected the Orange outfit in the past claiming often, it prevents many from participating in the national general elections.

“ODM elections board should swiftly act on this ahead of 2017. It is something that has often affected us in the past,” he said.

“What happens is that the candidates transport voters from the villages to come boost their numbers in some of the areas.

But when they lose they ditch the party for other political vehicles and forget to ferry them home and back to their polling stations in towns where they had previously helped them register.
