Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passairs warmed social media users after she visited her longtime house-help.
The businesswoman-cum politician on Wednesday said she was happy to learn that her former nanny, Maru Ogosi, who helped in the upbringing of her children was happily living after investing part of her retirement benefits.
"Whilst in Kisumu for parliamentary work, I took the chance to visit Mary Ogosi who was a nanny to my children from birth and a companion to my grandmother," Passaris said.
"It is nice to see her happy and enjoying the returns on her investment on property from her retirement benefit," she added.
After the visit to her former nanny, she met groups of jubilant supporters who embraced the visit encouraging her to champion the opposition agenda in Parliament.
Passaris is a close ally of opposition chief Raila Odinga who enjoys massive support in Kisumu and it was obvious that her visit to the lakeside town would excite residents who wholly support the former Prime Minister.
She is among politicians who have been busy urging Kenyans to forget their differences pegged on tribal and regional lines, embrace one another and help build the country that almost tore apart during last year's election which President Uhuru Kenyatta won.
The soft-spoken politician has also been at the forefront championing for women's rights and her help to her former nanny implies that she recognizes efforts by women to invest and build society.
