Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris has hit out at the Jubilee government accusing it of allegedly interfering with post-mortem results of victims of police brutality whose bodies had been kept at the City Mortuary.Passaris alleges that police tried to change the post-mortem results to conceal evidence of the victims killed as a result of police bullets.Speaking at the City Mortuary in Nairobi on Thursday, the ODM Women Rep said that post-mortem had to be conducted afresh on some victims after police allegedly interfered with the first results.She said that the government is guilty of police brutality and is seeking ways of concealing evidence.Passaris claimed that post-mortem results on the victim of police brutality showed that they died as a result of bullets."We have documented our evidence and we will be using it to seek justice, no matter how the government tries to conceal it," she said.The vocal Nairobi Women's rep said that police who allegedly killed innocent NASA supporters during the election period will pay for their actions.She accused the Jubilee government of perpetuating police brutality and impunity.Passaris claimed that president Kenyatta's government is using the police to frustrate the opposition in efforts to silence it from its push for electoral reforms agenda.Police have been on the spot over alleged brutality on NASA leaders and supporters in the recently concluded general election.Last week, a congratulatory message to the police by president Uhuru Kenyatta for effectively managing security during the election period sparked reactions with the opposition accusing the Jubilee government of tolerating police brutality.
On Thursday, NASA leader Raila Odinga alleged that over 200 Kenyans were killed by police bullets during and after the August 8 general election.
