Nairobi women representative hopeful Esther Passaris has paid tribute to her bitter rival Rachel Shebesh saying the latter mentored her politically.
Speaking to NTV on Wednesday, the ODM nominee said Shebesh campaigned for her and showed her the ropes when she first ran for political office in 2008.
"She organised my campaigns and taught me a lot when I first ran for political office. We were both in ODM when Raila Odinga asked her to hold my hand and help me traverse Embakassi constituency. Despite our political differences we are very good friends," she said.
Passaris unsuccessfully ran for the Embakassi parliamentary seat in a by-election following the killing of incumbent Mugabe Were in January 2008.
The former Adopt-A-Light executive has centered her campaigns along women and youth empowerement while her rival is rooting for her re-election on the platform of service delivery and championing women rights through constitutional amendments.
