A matatu driver is nursing serious injuries at Avenue Hospital in Kisumu. The driver sustained the injuries after he was beaten by passengers he was ferrying from Kakamega to Kisumu.
The incident occurred late Wednesday along Kisumu-Kakamega road, after the bus they were travelling in, hit a personal car which later lost control and ran into an electricity pole.

“The bus collided with the car and most passengers were angry and worried because the incident was going to keep them on the road as it was already late. The local were fuming following concerns over the seriously injured car motorist,'' Omondi a passenger said.
James Egondi said that the driver was punished by four angered boys who boarded the vehicle at Majengo stage in Mbale and were attending a night music concert in one of the Kisumu clubs.
The Toyota Mac X was badly damaged and was later trolled to the police station.
