Standard Gauge Railway passengers delayed for about aN hour on Wednesday in Kibwezi after the SGR bullet train stalled.
The train which was on its way to Nairobi from Mombasa stalled after reportedly developing a technical hitch.
Kenya Railways (KR) described the development as an “unscheduled stop”.
KR on its Twitter account said the problem was rectified and the train proceeded to Nairobi.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and assure you of our commitment to continually provide an efficient and reliable service,” it said.
The SGR passenger train was launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta on June 1 at Miritini, Mombasa.
The train’s introduction was set to cut transport costs between Nairobi and Mombasa.
