The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) conducted an impromptu crackdown along the Garissa-Nairobi highway on Thursday that saw several trucks and buses without the required stickers and other documents nabbed.

Hundreds of passengers were left stranded and forced to wait by the road sides for hours as the NTSA officials and police inspected the vehicles.

The NTSA regional head, Mohamed Omar said the exercise was meant to weed out rogue drivers who do not adhere to the authority’s regulations.He also added that the exercise would be extended to other towns in the North Eastern region to ensure all motorists comply with the NTSA,NTSA regulations.
