Passengers who were traveling from different parts of the country to Nairobi via Eldoret town got stranded on Monday after they found booking offices closed at 11 in the morning.
This follows a ban on night travel for long distance public service vehicles (PSV) by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
Some of the passengers had to spend their night at the offices but others opted to board private cars.
Moses Mburu, a manager at Eldoret Premium Shuttles faulted NASA's timing of the ban terming it unfortunate.
"The ban has come at a very wrong time because this is the time people are coming from festive season heading back to their workplaces and others are going back to school," Mburu noted.
"The common mwananchi is the one suffering now and how I wish the government had other measures to deal with road carnage rather than ban night travels," he added.
Some passengers expressed their disappointment saying the government should have used other measures to address the menace.
"They should have considered ensuring strict adherence to traffic laws rather than banning travels at night. I'll now have to spend my night in cold because I had no plans of sleeping over in Eldoret town," lamented one of the travelers who wished not to be named.
