Boronyi SDA Church District Pastor, Leonard Aencha has raised concern over increasing cases of members from the church patronizing loan products from various commercial banks and credit schemes, contrary to the church's stand against its members seeking credit and loans from such organizations.

Speaking at Boronyi SDA Church District grounds in Giasaiga Sub-location of Sameta sub-county, Aencha warned mostly women against going for credit and loans which they could not afford to repay, exposing them to temptations of resorting to unlawful practices to repay such loans to the detriment of the church's image.

He advised women, majority of whom seek for loans from the Kenya Women Finance Trust, to be wary of such loans, which he said had subjected many local women to misery as they use all their resources repaying loans given at high interest rates.

“I have heard the murmurs from the women faithful in the congregation against my position on the Kenya Women Finance Trust loans, but I must caution you that going for such loans has various risks which you must guard against by all means to safeguard the image of your families and the church,” advised Aencha.
