There was drama on Monday at Lela, Kisumu County as a pastor was forced to flee from a funeral service over claims that the parents of the deceased were members of the Illuminati group.
Helen Owago, the deceased, who was a daughter of Evelyn and John Owago, died after a short illness at the Kisumu District Hospital.
During the funeral service, Pastor Lungosi condemned Helen's parents for joining the Illuminati society, claiming they had sacrificed their only daughter.
“Evelyn and John, you have started it. You will lose everything. You better stop killing innocent souls,” said the pastor.
Soon after making the sentiments, the parents caused an uproar forcing the pastor to flee from the scene, with the father of the deceased threatening to kill him with a machete.
It took the efforts of the residents to calm down the situation before the funeral service continued.
John, a sand harvester, rebuked the pastor, adding that there was no way he could have killed his only daughter whom he loved.
Earlier, there were claims from a section of the residents that the dead girl spoke through some family members, and said that she had been killed by his parents to gain wealth.
