Education is inscribed in the law and is a requirement for every parent to make it possible for their children to attend school.

A pastor in Kwale doesn’t, however, fancy that as he has repeatedly preached against education as well as instructing the church members not to seek medical care when sick.

This left the police with no choice but to arrest Callister Joshua, the leader of the church, alongside two other church members.

The cleric was sensationally netted in a Diani police crackdown on illegal operations in the area after being tipped off about the church’s controversial dealings.

The controversial Good News Missionary church has been in operation for a period of about six years with its inception having been back in 2012.

The church has gained a reputation of forbidding its members from going to school and the cleric’s son himself dropped out of school after just two years of high school education.

The church’s doctrines further state that no member affiliated to the church shall seek medical care when seek as the use of medicinal substances is as a toxic external substance which makes them ‘impure’

The members’ children have been dropping out of school ‘to serve God’ and this had raised concerns on the legibility of the church’s operations considering the law states clearly that every child is supposed to acquire an education.

The recruitment system for new members remains unknown but the church was gathering quite a popularity before their unfortunately abrupt end to what they believed was the only way to heaven.

Will the church make an adjustment to its doctrines? Will it cease its operations? Or will it defy the law and continue operating.

Either way, it is of interest to know what becomes of them and what great good could come from their pleasant operations.
