Pastor James Ng;ang’a is not yet off the hook after he was acquitted of dangerous driving which caused a death.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i on Tuesday directed Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji to appeal the acquittal.
The no-nonsense CS has written a letter to police boss Jospeh Binnet and the DPP saying the government is shocked that Ng’ang’a was acquitted yet the ‘evidence was clear’.
“The ministry notes with surprise the acquittal handed down in the above case where we believe a brazen crime was committed by the accused person,” Matiang’i said in the letter.
He added: “While seeking a report on the investigatory and trial processes that may have caused this outcome, I urge you to appeal this judgment in its entirety and pursue justice for the victims herein and the people of Kenya.”
