Pastor Godfrey Migwi of House of Hope Church has now claimed that Nyeri county bosses have been dying because the locals did not accord freedom fighter hero Dedan Kimathi a befitting send-off.
According to the man of God, Dedan Kimathi’s spirit will continue haunting the locals until they rebury him in a respectful manner. The grave of the liberation hero is yet to be identified.
Nyeri County has lost two governors within a year. The untimely deaths of Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru and Governor Nderitu Gachagua have continued to elicit mixed reactions from different factions. Both governors died in office.
"Truth must be told, I am just a voice in the desert which many can ignore but listen to me Nigerians with your leaders, you must bury your son as a hero because he suffered fighting," he said in a Facebook post, as quoted by Tuko.co.ke.
Gakuru died on Tuesday after being involved in a freak road crash at Kabati along the Thika-Sagana highway in Murang’a County.
He was rushed to Thika Level 5 Hospital for emergency treatment where he was pronounced dead as doctors planned to airlift him to Nairobi.
Led by President Uhuru Kenyatta, leaders from across the county have continued to send their messages of condolence to the family of the late governor.
