Antony Onyinkwa, who chairs the board, said the committee voted in favour of relieving pastor Henry Osiemo of his mandate after he was adversely mentioned in the ongoing probe of embezzlement of Sh300,000 by the construction committee.

According to him, the church construction has stalled despite area MP Timothy Bosire having donated the money for the completion of the new building.

Mr Onyinkwa said most committee members had implicated the man of God, who astonishingly failed to honour summons by the board to clear his name.

“The money was donated by Mr Bosire although it wasn’t in a formal ceremony. We suspected foul play because no construction has been done since then and this made us to call a crisis meeting to discuss the issue,” he said.

“We had invited members of the building and construction committee and all appeared except the pastor. We have consequently decided to suspend him pending investigations because that is a mega scam that cannot be taken lightly,” he added.

Efforts to reach the pastor were futile since he could not pick phone calls or reply to texts after learning that he was speaking to a journalist.
