The church in Nyamira County has asked Education Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang'i to review the recent rules in the ministry and allow prayers to be conducted in schools if they want to tame the rising wave of student unrest and fires.
Speaking on Tuesday during a Pentecostal pastors' consultation meeting at Ikobe God's Great Miracle Church, Pastor Daniel Kebasane said if Matiang'i denies God the chance to control schools then rules and regulations won't solve the burning of institutions.
"If you deny God, God denies you and if he rejects you, all things go a miss, let the church be allowed to pray for God's intervention in the ongoing burning of schools," said Kebasane.
The Ministry of Education banned school prayers and social activities during third term as one way of taming cheating in exams.
