A pastor in Likoni, Mombasa has appealed to the government to release the findings of the investigations done following a church attack that left six dead. Pastor Willis Omondi of Joy in Jesus Church said the government is taking too long to unearth the killers, considering the incident took place three years ago.On Sunday, March 23, 2014, a gang of armed men, whose identity has remained a mystery, stormed into the church at around 10.30 am and opened fire killing six brethren. It is reported that one of the terrorists entered the church through the back door before he started shooting while two others armed with a pistol and AK-47 stationed themselves outside ready to shot fleeing faithful. Speaking during the marking of the third anniversary at the Church, Pastor Omondi said the worshipers want to know who killed their fellow brethren, adding that they have forgiven them. “I would wish to see the report," he said, as quoted by the Nation. The pastor further said that residents no longer want to worship at the Church."Many people believed we wouldn’t worship here again. They thought it was the end of us but the healing process is ongoing," he added.
