Pastoralists from some parts of Wajir county have begun migrating to neighboring counties as drought continues to bite.
According to Wajir South deputy county commissioner Felix Kisalu, drought has worsened in the region affecting social economic activities including education.
The administrator said the most hit areas include Burder, Kursin, Machesa, Gherille and Handaki, Hambalash and Buna areas in Wajir North.
The drought is as a result of prolonged lack of rains in the area which has deserted the area and destroying of pastures for livestock.
This comes after pastoralists in Lamu county were ejected from Boni forest to allow the military bomb the forest to flush out Al shabaab militants who are hiding in the forest bushes.
