Director of a Christian Centre known as Lake Basin Region Centre for Theology Prof. Jack Kamiruka has revealed that they have designed programmes to help build capacity of church leaders from all denominations.

He said they are focusing on training and building capacity of clergy, lay church leaders, chaplains, counsellors, and Christian Religious Education teachers to schools and professionals in other fields across Christian religious groups.

Kamiruka said that the move will enable such individuals grow to maturity and acquire skills for teaching religious education and service rendering on the same.

He added that they aim at bridging the gap between diverse religious groups by availing its programmes for access across all the denomination.

Speaking during the launch of its annual theological conference in Kisumu, Kamiruka said when clergy from different denominations study and work together it will bring unity in the churches.

Retired Provincial Commissioner (PC) Peter Raburu who was also present at the conference, urged people to embrace theological education especially in Luo Nyanza.

Nyanza Regional Coordinator Francis Mutie said they are working out a programme to control the upcoming churches by the roadside and see only legitimate churches are registered.

Lake Basin Regional Centre for Theology is an Inter-denominational Evangelical Christian Institution which was established in 2014 to help build capacity of church leaders and workers.
