A report by pathologists indicates that Eldoret based human rights activist Ken Wafula died of diabetes, elevated sugar levels and infections.
Releasing the report at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, government pathologist at the facility Benson Macharia said the tests indicated that high sugar levels led to his coma.
He said though they relied on a report from St. Luke hospital where he had been admitted, they had to conduct an autopsy to confirm the tests. He stated that his heart was enlarged due high blood pressure.
Macharia said since he was in a coma on admission, samples have been taken for further investigations that he said it will take some time.
Wafula died on 17/01/2018 after he was rushed to St Luke hospital in Eldoret. He will be buried on Friday 2nd at his parents home in Likuyani, Kakamega county.
