Doctors have ruled out foul play as the reason for the death of former Interior Security CS Joseph Nkaissery.
According to a postmortem that took six hours and conducted by the government pathologist Johansen Oduor and family pathologists, Nkaissery suffered a heart attack in his house that killed him immediately.
The postmortem was conducted at the Lee Funeral Home, and it indicated that a blood vessel to the heart was compromised.
“He suffered an acute heart attack occasioned by a compromised vessel taking blood to the heart,” sadi Bessie Byakika, who represented the family during the autopsy.
She further said that further probe will be conducted in the coming days on the samples collected from the body.
“There is no evidence of foul play at this stage but further tests will be conducted to tell us more,” she added.
“He suffered myocardia infection due to the raptured vessel of the blood. He suffered sudden onset fatal heart attack,” she added.
The CS collapsed and died on Friday night, after attending a public function with other government officials.
Police have so far questioned more than ten people who were with the CS before he died, which include waiters, his security, doctors at Karen Hospital and his wife.
He will be laid to rest this weekend.
