The association chairman David Kiarie said accident victims are always left in the hospitals without anybody to pay their hospital bills.

Kiarie said the idea of moving to court after accidents to determine whether one is going to be paid or not should be abolished.

He said every PSV on the road is insured and should accept liability in case of accidents on the road.

“No vehicle can operate on Kenyan roads without insurance and after every accident let not wait for courts to decide, let the insurance companies pay accident victims,” he said.

Speaking at Katito police station after inspecting the ill fated matatu that killed eight people on in Nyakach, Kiarie said many Kenyans are suffering after accidents without any help.

He said they have visited various hospitals in the country and documented the agony many accident victims undergo thus the need to sponsor a bill to look into their welfare.

Kiarie said priority has been given to the dead yet those who survive die painful deaths that could have been prevented through proper medication.
