Kenyans will now be able to make payments for land rent as well as the transfer of ownership and other fees involving the lands ministry online beginning Monday.

This follows the successful digitisation of data at the Ministry of Lands and physical planning in a development that will allow Kenyans to manage their property and transact through the e-citizen portal.

Lands Principal Secretary Nicholas Muraguri through a public notice on local dailies, says digitisation of land transactions means there

will be no more manual and paper-based transactions processed in Nairobi and central registries.

Landowners will be required to initiate their own transaction on the system by logging in to www.e-citizen.go.ke and accessing the Ministry of Lands’ page.

In order for your land to be listed on the online page, the landowner is required to validate with the local registry using original title deed or certificate of the lease, original ID CARD and KRA pin.
