Party for Development and Reforms, PDR, leaders have denied claims that the party shifted to NASA from Jubilee.

The leaders led by Wajir Governor aspirant Ahmed Muhumed, Women rep aspirant Fatuma Gedi and senator aspirant Mohamed Abikar  assured supporters that PDR is supporting the re-election of president Uhuru Kenyatta and not NASA's Raila Odinga.

“Reports appearing that PDR in Wajir county has joined opposition outfit NASA are a lie and progadanda,” said Abukar Gacal.

Gacal is a lead campaigner for Jubilee team in Wajir county.

Gacal denied statements on social media that PDR leaders in Wajir county have decamped to NASA.

“We are in Jubilee to stay,” Gacal insisted.

Governor aspirant Muhumed said in 2013 elections most of the leaders were elected on the ODM ticket but this time round, the residents have shifted to Uhuru’s Jubilee Party.

“As a region we don’t want to repeat the same mistake we made in 2013 and voted for the opposition. We want to be in government this time round and by the look of things, it is Jubilee Party that will carry the day,” Muhumed said.

PDR leaders assurance comes after the national government gazetted 3 sub-counties in Wajir as part of the fulfillment of Uhuru’s pledge to residents during his last visit in March.

The 3 new sub-counties are Diff in Wajir South, Haddado and Kotulo in Wajir West.

Wajir incumbent governor Ahmed Abdullahi is leading the NASA campaigns in the county and has since exuded confidence that all candidates vying under NASA affiliated parties will win their respective seats.
