“We have been able to resolve many of the conflicts in the county. They range from land disputes, Mau encroachment, political incitements, cattle theft, negative ethnicity and the squatters and IDP resettlement. We have been able to sort out this differences from the grassroots level and hence push for more peace in the county,” said Wanguru.

He further called on leaders to avoid defamatory remarks, which might spark violence in the area, urging them to be ambassadors of pece.

Nakuru county Governor Kinuthia Mbugua cited that they had invested so much in the peace campaigns in the area and they were bearing fruits.

“We have based our leadership on promoting peace. Earlier on majority of the students could not study in peace due to cattle raids or in extreme cases of political violence. The frequent displacing of people and subsequent cases of IDPS had brought a huge setback in our town. We have been able to rebuild peace from scratch. This will bring proper investors and the business community will expand further,” said Mbugua.
