Area Chief Samuel Wame while addressing a public baraza on Wednesday complained that cases of youths abusing drugs especially bhang are on the rise.

The Chief warned that stern action will be taken against those found abusing or trafficking drugs.

“It is illegal for people to abuse and traffic drugs, know that we are monitoring you and we will take the appropriate action,” he warned.

The Chief directed other local administration officers to work together and tame drugs and substance abuse.

He said that raids an security swoops would be conducted soon with the aim of arresting traffickers.

Wame said that abusing drugs has severe effects on human body and urged youths to desist from it completely.

The Chief instead asked the youth to work with the area leaders and better their lives for the better.

On the same note, the Chief warned makers of illicit alcohol saying that they have been directed to deal firmly with them.

He said that brewing is illegal and anyone found contravening governments directives will be arrested and charged in court.
