People living with disabilities have been challenged to pursue their talents to improve their living standards.
Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi said they should emulate the disabled who participate in world championships.
He was speaking on Thursday at Gusii Stadium during the celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
“Many disabled people have won gold medals by participating in athletics and I advise you to make use of such completions to achieve your goals,” said Maangi.
He added that the disabled should realise that disability is not inability, noting that they have the potential to excel in their talents.
He warned the residents to stop stigmatizing the disabled and instead accept and support them.
